Floor Rising vs Wall Mounted Projection Screens
Screens that rise from the floor vs screens fixed to the wall — the practical trade-offs.
How Each Works
A floor rising screen sits in a case on the floor and extends upward, requiring no wall or ceiling fixing at all. A wall mounted screen — fixed or motorized — is fixed permanently to the wall or ceiling.
Installation and Reversibility
Floor rising screens are the better fit for rented spaces, showrooms, or any room where permanent wall fixings aren't an option — nothing needs to be drilled or wired in. Wall mounted screens need proper fixing into the wall or ceiling structure but, once installed, stay out of the way permanently.
Portability
A floor rising screen can be relocated to a different room or venue relatively easily, similar in spirit to a tripod screen but with a cleaner, case-enclosed rise-and-retract action rather than manual leg assembly.
Which to Choose
Choose floor rising for flexibility and no wall work; choose wall mounted for a permanent installation in a dedicated room. Both are available in standard sizes — see our size guide to match one to your room.
